Disability Law / Disability Insurance Policies
If you or a loved one has a physical or mental impairment that limits one or more major life activities, you or your loved one is protected by the American Disabilities Act also known as the ADA.
The American Disabilities Act (ADA) prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability in employment, state and local government, public accommodations, commercial facilities, transportation, and telecommunications. It also applies to the United States Congress.
To be protected by the ADA, you must have a disability or have a relationship or association with an individual with a disability. An individual with a disability is defined by the ADA as "a person who has a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities, a person who has a history or record of such impairment, or a person who is perceived by others as having such impairment." The ADA does not specifically name all of the impairments which are covered.
Have you or a loved one become disabled from dangerous or defective products and/or through the negligence of the manufacturers?
Unfortunately, this is a common occurrence because many products lack safety standards.
Product liability may involve products such as toys, cribs and car seats, defective car designs (most recently Toyota's recalled floor mats), tires, household goods and chemicals, industrial equipment, farm machinery, medical devices, aviation products, just to name a few of the products with flaws on the market.
People who are the victims of product liability or product negligence have the right to be compensated. The product liability lawsuit is the consumer's most effective tactic against dangerous products.
If you or a loved one has lost a limb or a life or have become mentally or physically incapacitated to the extent of being covered by the American Disabilities Act from product negligence - please contact a competent Pennsylvania law firm to find how what your legal options are and how we can help in your time to transition.
Do not hesitate too long because there is a statute of limitations in filing and the last thing you want is to not have the right or opportunity to fight for justice.
